I volunteered for many non profit wildlife conservation societies. Im humbled and blessed to get their support to use my self taught illustration skills.
I had done for free for WWF thailand, ACRES singapore wildlife rescue center, Mekong turtles conservation center, Ocean Geographic, Sea Shepherd singapore, and so on...
After a couple of years of helping out intensively, I got suggested by some of the societies to go for further education as a nature science illustrator. I pondered as the min requirement to most of these school is a bachelor and i only got a diploma. Despite that I tried applied to many schools.
I'm surprised that i got a mail from California state university Monterey bay to study professionally for a year program in science illustration which cost about 45k US Dollars. That sum is huge for me and i couldnt afford it. Im humbled that this program is for biologists, naturalists or bachelor holders while im only a tiny diploma holder.
I seek help from local authorities but of no avail. The various wildlife conservational societies couldnt sponsor me but could wrote recommendation letters to the school of which is a requirement too.
I hope the crowd could help me out in easing my education cost. Hoping this will help me to get fulltime too as a natural science or wildlife illustrator. Maybe common in the west but rare and perhaps first within asia context.
Even if its just donating 1 buck or 10 bucks is ok.
Thank you very much. Here's the link to make donation.
